What FlowGraph is
FlowGraph is a visual workspace for work that has structure: processes, decisions, plans, systems, models, evidence, and the relationships between them. A card is not merely a rectangle on a page. It can carry an owner, status, source, review state, attachments, and typed connections to other cards. That is why the same underlying graph can become a free canvas, a flowchart, a board, a timeline, an outline, a tool map, or an executive view without being copied into separate files.
AI helps draft and extend that structure, but it does not silently become truth. Its changes arrive as proposals through the same governed patch boundary as every other mutation. A person can inspect, accept, reject, or lock the relevant facts. The attached provenance answers who proposed something, who accepted it, and what evidence grounds it.
Cards and typed relationships are the durable source, rather than a collection of disconnected pictures.
Change the question and the view changes with it; the underlying facts stay synchronized.
AI drafts remain reviewable proposals, with receipts that travel with accepted facts.
Local-first by default
The browser app keeps your vault on the device by default. FlowGraph also ships as the flowgraphapp Python package, so the same canvas can run from your own machine. Install it with python3 -m pip install flowgraphapp, then run flowgraph. First run requires a free FlowGraph account; installing and using the local canvas does not require Pro. Live command-line execution is a Pro capability.
Local-first is a precise boundary, not a claim that the product never uses a network. Sign-in, intentional sharing, sync, hosted AI, and opt-in cloud model translation are network features. Without those features, graph content stays on the device. The security page documents those boundaries and the current compliance status without presenting roadmap work as fact.
What it can start from today
A new graph can begin with a prompt or a blank canvas. FlowGraph can also import supported Mermaid flowchart syntax, map supported TypeScript, JavaScript, and Python codebases, open FlowGraph graph files, and connect documents or building-model information through the product's existing intake paths. The free IFC viewer parses standard IFC model bytes in the browser.
A clear name in a crowded namespace
“Flow graph” is also a generic computer-science term, and several independent products and libraries use similar names. FlowGraph at flow-graph.com is the local-first AI diagramming canvas described on this site. It is not flowgraph.in, flowgraph.dev, flowgraph.pro, a FlowGraph feature inside Unreal or another game engine, or the generic control-flow graph concept. Those projects have their own purposes and owners; the shared wording does not imply a relationship.
This page is the canonical entity home for the product. Public profiles are added to structured data only after those profiles genuinely exist. FlowGraph does not invent ratings, certifications, customers, or press citations to make the entity appear larger than it is.
